Traditionally regarded merely as a pump, the heart's capabilities extend far beyond this basic function. Here are some intriguing aspects you may not know:

Among the most profound revelations about the heart is its ability to learn, remember, and think autonomously, thanks to approximately 40,000 specialized neuron-like cells known as sensory neurites. These unique cells endow the heart with both short-term and long-term memory.
